Accountability and Transparency

The governors of regional water authorities put quality first and foremost in their work as public administrators. The integrity of public governance is a key condition, which means accepting the responsibility that comes with the job and being accountable for decisions taken.

The interests of the regional water authority as well as those of the public are a primary guideline. Authority governors are internally accountable to each other, to the local council, to the provincial council and to their General Assembly, but also externally to the public and to organisations.

Integrity demands a clear division of tasks, competences and responsibilities, in which checks and balances are paramount. Only then the work of the Association and its members is transparant and verifiable.
